Belgian-wide platform for practitioners launched!

On 27 May, The Belgian Peers, an associated network of EU Peers, was launched during a half-day event in Zaventem, close to Brussels. Hosted by Buildwise, a Belgian innovation center for construction, the event attracted around 50 participants willing to be part of the historic moment. In several workshop rounds topics like innovative financing solutions to promote through One-Stop Shops (OSS), cooperation with the building sector, and effective renovation advice were addressed.

The exchanges brought to light the high level of experience and expertise among the participants, as well as the need to break down the silos in order to learn from each other. The differences between the regions in terms of policy and regulation undermine the added-value of a country-wide OSS approach, helping to disseminate good examples beyond regional borders.

A large group of founders stands behind The Belgian Peers, among them Dubolimburg, European S3,  Buildwise, Embuild Wallonia, GreenWin, CAP Construction, Climact, Financité, Onesto. Nevertheless, it was not them alone who set up the future work programme. All participants shared their needs and expectations for the new platform. Further contributions were provided by Christophe Milin from CINEA, and Jenny-Claire Keilmann from the EU Peers consortium.

The Belgian Peers

To summarise, it can be said that a highly motivated group came together, willing to pursue and shape the future exchange! EU Peers is more than happy to support the Belgian initiative with different features of the Community and wishes good luck to its Belgian colleagues!

Energy-efficient building renovation is a key practice to reduce European emissions. But this is exactly where homeowners face major, frustrating hurdles. In order to ease their renovation journey, Integrated Home Renovation Services (IHRS), or so-called One-Stop Shops for residential energy renovation (OSS), are emerging in Europe. EU Peers is here to support those IHRS / OSS through a shared Community of Practice.
EU Peers highly recommends the Master Class on One-Stop-Shops (OSS) for residential retrofit, organised by our sister project ManagEnergy.
On 9 July 2025 took place with great participation the webinar "From the Directive to the implementation: recommendations for the implementation of One-stop shop for energy renovation", organised by ENEA and Regione Piemonte, within the Italian community of EU Peers.
