About IHRS

What are IHRS?

Integrated Home Renovation Services (IHRS) offer holistic renovation solutions to accompany homeowners as far as possible throughout their renovation journey. In this sense, an IHRS is also known as a One-Stop-Shop (OSS) for Residential Energy Renovation. See this paper for more insights.

Membership & Community

What is the EU Peers Community for?

EU Peers aims to strengthen and upscale the Integrated Home Renovation Services (IHRS) movement across Europe. Therefore, the Community of Practice aims to foster learning, encourage collaboration, and offer creative problem-solving opportunities.

Who can join the Community of Practice?

Besides the core target group of One-Stop-Shops for residential energy renovation and emerging initiatives, the Community welcomes other key stakeholders like public authorities and energy agencies, stakeholders from the demand and supply side (e.g. service providers, homeowner associations, energy auditors, architects, NGOs), financial institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

What does the EU Peers Community offer?

Now:

  • Regular peer exchange and learning formats at the national and European levels, including an annual gathering event in Brussels (see also country-specific activities).
  • Digital collaboration platform for One-Stop-Shops for residential energy renovation.

In the future:

  • Online knowledge repository.
  • European capacity building series on different relevant topics.
  • Mentoring programme for comprehensive assistance in setting up a One-Stop-Shop.

Additionally, for a wider engagement, EU Peers plans:

  • To campaign for public authorities on supportive structures for the promotion of IHRS.
  • Policy recommendations and debates at national and European level for an improved policy framework.
  • Roundtables with market players to improve collaboration and create a dialogue.

You can contribute to the planned activities and create content as a Community member.

Are there country-specific activities?

In eight countries, Community platforms organise regular exchange and capacity-building activities (France, Ireland, Italy, Hungary, Spain, and the Baltics). An extended European Community platform welcomes and supports practitioners from other European countries. All these Community platforms are open for IHRS practitioners and stakeholders and align their activities with the needs of their members. Join us!
