Who We Are & Our Mission
The Hungarian EU Peers Community, coordinated by Energiaklub Climate Policy Institute (which established Hungary's first One-Stop Shop, RenoPont), can rely by the end of 2025 on a stable base of around 40 members, including one-stop shop providers and supporters. Our diverse membership includes OSS providers for family houses and condominiums, research organisations, local government, EEOS auditors, advocacy NGOs, and funding experts from Budapest and regions. Our mission focuses on gathering quality OSS providers, defining expectations for reliable contractors, and exploring value propositions for stakeholders like banks, municipalities, and real estate companies while advocating for government support of complex OSS services.

How We Work Together
We meet regularly online and in-person, maintaining connections via HumHub and email. In last one and half year, we held six meetings. Popular topics revolve around renovation subsidies and tender management. We are structuring future meetings in three sections: family house OSS, condominium OSS, and joint sessions, allowing members to present research and promote conferences while fostering casual networking.

Highlights & Impact
Major achievements include shaping the Social Climate Fund framework through workshops with the Energy Ministry, and collaborating with Budapest Municipality and Budapest Climate Agency on the "Zöld Panel" programme, allocating 5 billion forints (30% grant, 10% equity, 60% preferential loans) to renovate approximately 60 buildings. We produced a comprehensive study on OSS concepts and recommendations for government, featuring good practices from Ireland, France, and Austria. Our community manager completed intensive IHRS training, sharing learnings with members, while Budapest Climate Agency hosted a 3-day visit with Tipperary Energy Agency Chairman, building Hungary's capacity for ambitious building stock renovation.

One insight emerging from the World Café at the 2nd EU Peers Summit is clear: to reach new, low-income home-buyers, One-Stop Shops (OSS) must engage them before purchase, through trusted local networks and accessible, aspiration-driven communication, ideally linking renovation advice with finance.
More than 70 organizations conform the EU Peers Community in Spain. On Monday, October 13, they met to share how they approach the project design and selection of companies phases (Millin & Bullier, 2021). This is the second of a cycle of four meetings in which the Community shares experiences of the entire housing renovation process.
